Day 1

Arrival & The Living City

Welcome to Chongqing

Your private guide meets you at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport or the railway station. Transfer to your centrally located hotel to freshen up before the adventure begins.

Hongyadong — The Cliffside Wonderland

We begin at Hongyadong, Chongqing's most photogenic landmark. This 11-storey complex of traditional stilt houses clings to the riverside cliff, housing teahouses, craft shops, and street-food stalls. Wander the lantern-lit corridors as the sun sets and the entire facade ignites in golden light.

Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street

After dark, stroll through Jiefangbei, the bustling commercial heart of Chongqing. Soaring skyscrapers frame a pedestrian plaza filled with light, energy, and the aroma of street snacks.

Day 2

Ancient Towns & River Crossings

Ciqikou Ancient Town

After a breakfast of Xiaomian — Chongqing's signature spicy noodles — we drive to Ciqikou, a thousand-year-old riverside town that has preserved its Ming and Qing dynasty architecture. Cobblestone lanes wind past traditional teahouses, pottery workshops, and stalls selling handmade rice cakes and Sichuan pepper snacks.

Three Gorges Museum

In the afternoon, visit the Three Gorges Museum for a deep dive into the history, culture, and engineering marvels of the Yangtze River. Exhibits span ancient Ba-Yu civilization, the epic Three Gorges Dam project, and the dramatic river gorges themselves.

Yangtze River Cableway

Experience Chongqing from above on the iconic Yangtze River Cableway. This aerial tramway has carried locals across the river for decades, offering sweeping views of the converging waterways, hillside neighborhoods, and the city's vertical sprawl.

Day 3

Wulong Karst — Nature's Cathedral

Full-Day Excursion to Wulong

Today we leave the city behind for one of China's most extraordinary natural landscapes. The Wulong Karst UNESCO World Heritage Site lies roughly two hours southeast of Chongqing, where millions of years of water and limestone have carved a realm of stone bridges, sinkholes, and hidden gorges.

Three Natural Bridges

Walk beneath three colossal natural stone arches — Tianlong, Qinglong, and Heilong Bridges — each spanning a lush green valley like a cathedral nave carved by nature. The scale is humbling: some bridges rise over 200 meters above the forest floor.

Dragon Hole (Longshui Gorge)

Descend into the Longshui Gorge, a narrow chasm where waterfalls tumble from above and sunlight filters through mist. The wooden boardwalk follows the stream deep into the earth, surrounded by ferns, moss, and the constant sound of running water.

Day 4

Hotpot Farewell & Departure

Chongqing Hotpot Experience

No visit to Chongqing is complete without hotpot. We reserve a table at a beloved local restaurant where bubbling red-oil broth simmers over open flame. Dip thin-sliced beef, fresh tripe, lotus root, and handmade noodles into the numbing-spicy soup — a communal ritual that locals call "the soul of Chongqing."

Free Time & Souvenir Shopping

Enjoy a leisurely morning to explore nearby markets, pick up Sichuan peppercorns, chili oils, or handmade crafts, and capture final photos of the riverfront skyline.
