Inner Mongolia follows China’s national visa rules. Most foreign travelers need a Chinese tourist visa, which we can support with invitation letters and itinerary documents.

The Chinese Yuan (CNY) is used throughout Inner Mongolia. Tipping is not customary, though guides, drivers and yurt hosts appreciate a small gratuity for good service.
Inner Mongolia is generally very safe. Normal travel precautions apply, and we recommend traveling remote grassland and desert areas with a local guide or driver.
Pack layers for cool mornings and warm days, a waterproof jacket, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, insect repellent, and a power bank for long drives.
